Govt forms committees for implementation of NSAP

JAMMU, Jan 11: Government today constituted State Level and District Level Committees for implementation of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) in the State.
According to an order issued by the Government, Vice Chairman/Director General, J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development, will be the Chairman of the State Level Committee while Administrative Secretary, Social Welfare Department, will be Member Secretary. The Committee will have seven members including Administrative Secretaries of Housing & Urban Development Department, Health & Medical Education Department, Finance Department, Revenue Department, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, besides one representative of each J&K Bank and State Bank of India.
The State Level Committee will monitor, implement and evaluate the programme and matters concerned therewith, and shall meet at least twice in a year.
As per the order, the District Level Committee will be comprised of a chairman, a member secretary and six members. While Deputy Commissioner concerned will be the chairman of the committee, concerned District Social Welfare Officer will be member secretary. The six members of the committee will be concerned District Programme Officer of ICDS, concerned Assistant Commissioner Development, concerned Assistant Commissioner Revenue, concerned Chief Medical Officer, besides Managers of concerned J&K Bank (Headquarter) and State Bank of India (Headquarter).
The District Level Committee shall monitor, implement and evaluate the programme within the district and submit report to the State Nodal Department (Social Welfare Department) on monthly basis.
