Govt fails to take up developmental activities in Udhampur: Apni Party

UDHAMPUR, Oct 12: Apni Party has alleged that the Government has failed to take up developmental activities in Udhampur district.
Addressing a party function at Udhampur, Apni Party Provincial President and Ex-Minister Manjit Singh said that it was unfortunate to know about the underdevelopment, poor road connectivity, electricity, and water supply system in the district.
He was addressing the programme organised by Ex-MLA Chenani Faqir Nath at Rakh Badali Panchayat in Udhampur in which the party leaders and workers highlighted issues faced by the Schedule Caste (SC) and Other Backward Class (OBC) communities in the district.
Singh said the SC and OBC allegedly facing negligence with regard to development in their areas and villages of the district. “The B2V three programmes have remained unsuccessful to win the confidence of the people because many works taken up in the last two Back to Village programmes have also not been completed,” said Manjit Singh.
He said that Udhampur district needs massive developmental plans for the villages to be taken up in a strategic manner for the poor masses living in remote areas.
“Udhampur district is lagging behind in every aspect and the attention of Government is required for the upliftment of the neglected people. The people were befooled by the previous Governments,” he said and expressed his concern that since Independence, it is unfortunate to see the condition of the district which is good on papers but ground realities are different.
Speaking on the occasion, Ex-MLA Chenani Faqir Nath said that SC and OBC areas being allegedly neglected with respect to development in Udhampur.
He said that the developments have taken backstage in the district.
On the occasion, OBC UT Coordinator Madan Lal Chalotra, Schedule Caste UT Coordinator Bodh Raj Bhagat, RK Lalotra, Jagdish Raj Panday, Shanker Singh Chib, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Gopal Verma and many others were present.
