Govt fails to solve problems of migrants, farmers, fruit growers: LJP

JAMMU, Feb 5: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Youth Wing has accused the Government of its total failure in solving the problems of displaced people from Valley.
Making a scathing attack at Government at a joint press conference here, today addressed by LJP national president of its Youth Wing, Sanjay Saraf, Rakesh Kumar Dogra , State president Youth and Gul Mohammed Rafiqi former MLA while highlighting various public related issues alleged lackadaisical attitude of the authorities has forced the people to suffer.

They said Mehboob Ali Kaiser MP LJP recently visited Kashmiri Pandits migrant camp Jagti where he was apprised by camp inmates that water treatment plant is defunct and camp inmates are forced to drink the contaminated water. Besides, various welfare schemes sponsored by the Central Government including Ayushman Bharat, Make In India etc are not implemented on migrants.
The MP was also informed that 36 Union ministers visited J&K UT in connection with public outreach programme but no one bothered to visit the migrant camps in Jammu even for 36 seconds to have an on spot study of the problems being faced by these hapless people. The MP has assured that he will take up their issues with Union Minister. Ram Vilas Paswan for early redressal. The LJP leaders also demanded resumption of Internet services in J&K immediately.
They said due to unseasonal rains and hailstorm huge losses have been caused to paddy growers and other agriculturists and the Government has failed to pay financial assistance to the affected farmers. The paddy growers have suffered unimaginable loss to their standing crops due to vagaries of weather . Even when harvesting was done massive water logging had buried produce leaving farmers high and dry, they added.
Moreover, the orchardists were also affected in Kashmir Valley due to untimely snowfall as huge losses have been caused to their fruit and the administration failed to take the cognizance of the same, they said, adding non extension of PM’s Fasal Bhima Yojna by the Government had further added to the woes of affected farmers and fruit growers.
They demanded immediate release of honorarium in favour of VDC members serving in remote areas and hilly belt who have not been paid it for last two years.
They also demanded regularization of the services of daily rated workers in PHE, PDD, R&B etc and release of their pending wages.
Seeking the intervention of Lt Governor, G C Murmu they urged him to redress the grievances of the people at the earliest.
Anita Chandpuri, president Women Wing LJP, Sardari Lal , provincial president of the party, Rohit Badyal its national secretary Youth, Sanjay Raina president Minority Cell LJP, Ajaz Sufi councilor, SMC and Tarsem Manhas Labour Cell president were also present in the press conference.
