JAMMU, Aug 27:  Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial president National Conference Jammu, while raising serious concern over spreading of Lumpy skin disease across the Jammu region, has accused the J&K Administration of having failed to take prompt and adequate steps to tackle this disease that is proving to be fatal for cattle.
In a statement issued to media here today, Rattan Lal said that the slackness and callous attitude of the authorities can be well judged from the fact that there is acute shortage of vaccine in major districts of Jammu region. He said that the task forces constituted by the Govt to tackle this disease today should have been constituted much earlier so that the alarming situation would have been addressed at the earliest.
Gupta said that the Task Force constituted by the Government should not delay its functioning. He said there is a dire need for further constitution of teams of experts from Veterinary field especially the doctors not only at the district level but even at every Tehsil level across Jammu province. These teams should be immediately dispatched to the respective destination to address the Lumpy dkin disease situation, he said adding that the fight against the disease has to be carried on a war footing at least to stop the spreading of this disease any further.
