JAMMU, Mar 8: While condemning the BJP-PDP Government for lathi-charge on women employees at Jammu, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has alleged that Modi Govt has been exposed on the slogans of ” Beti Padhao Beti Bachao”.
Speaking on the occasion of International Women Day at Gangyal today, Bhalla said that BJP was on one hand raising the slogan of “Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao” to reap political benefits, but on the other hand poor woman employees were lathi-charged by the Government. He said the BJP Government’s slogan of “Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao” was just to fool the common people. He said the BJP- PDP Government was not paying any heed to their genuine problems.
The present Government is directionless due to absence of any common point in their respective agenda. It has only given rise to a situation of uncertainty, chaos and confusion. The State was passing through the “worst ever misrule. There is total policy paralysis due to inherent contradictions and divergent vested political interests among the two diametric opposite ruling partners, PDP and BJP, in the State. He said over three years have passed but not a single promise made to the people by the BJP in Jammu and the PDP in Kashmir has been fulfilled.
Bhalla said that the perpetuation of bias by the incumbent Govt by divesting Jammu region of its legitimate share in various sectors as clearly noticed during the last three years was wholly unacceptable to Congress party. Lecturers, NHM and ReT teachers, etc are on the roads protesting for their genuine demands related to their salaries and regularization of services. He maintained that the Jammu youth had played a pivotal role in bringing BJP to power in the State but now with their hopes having been belied, they were only feeling cheated, humiliated and betrayed for no fault of theirs. He urged upon the people to unite so as to ensure that much needed healing touch was provided to Jammu region.
Congress leader said that Govt must convey specific instructions to all the concerned departments to put in there sincere and dedicated efforts to provide every facility to people at their doorsteps which should be top priority of the Coalition Government.
