SRINAGAR, June 3: With less than 50 percent of the posts being filled up by Public Service Commission (PSC) from last year, State Government today said it would expedite the recruitment process for various departments.
In reply to a question of MLA Javed Hassan Beigh, the Minister Incharge GAD, said recruitment in Education and Health sectors would be prioritized and recruitment would be done on a speedy manner.
In his supplementary, Javed Hassan Beigh said less than 50% of the posts have been filled and large number of posts are unnecessary lying vacant. Replying to the supplementary, Minister informed that in some cases, there were litigations and Government’s legal cell was examining them.
The Government legal cell would be directed to ensure speedy follow-up of cases pending for decision and the matter would be also taken with Advocate General so that the selection of posts in Health and Education Departments would be done by the concerned recruitment agencies well in time, he said and assured that the recruitments in various departments would be done on fast-track basis.
The Minister said that PSC and SSRB would be also asked to further speed up the selection process of different posts for augmenting the staff strength in various departments. He further informed the House that during the last six years 5775 vacant posts of different departments have been referred to PSC against which selection of 2312 posts has been done by the PSC during the period.
