Govt directive on procurement through GeM

JAMMU, Mar 13: The Government has directed all the departments to adhere to the guidelines while procuring of Goods and Services through Government e-Marketing (GeM).
As per the direction, 100 percent procurement should be ensured through GEM portal and information of every month in prescribed format must be submitted by 7th of the following month in respect of procurement made through GeM.
Besides, payment to vendors of GeM should be made within the stipulated time limits prescribed by GeM authorities and also reflection of work done by the officers reported upon should be made in the APRs of the officer.
A circular in this regard was issued today by the Financial Commissioner, Finance Department, with the observation that most of the departments/officers were not sending their respective monthly procurement details as per the prescribed format.
