Jammu, May 6: Govt. Dental College Jammu, Department of Public Health Dentistry, IGGDC Jammu started their campaign of oral awareness and dental check-up camps in Kathua today. The Dental College has adopted two disticts of Doda and Kathua .
As per Dr Rakesh Krishan Gupta, Principal, in such camps epidemiological survey of oral diseases , as per WHO norms, for local population of that area is taken . Oral dental health education lecture and demonstration for local population, as well refresher training module for local dental surgeon are also carried out by the faculty of IGGDC Jammu.
Keeping in view above points, first camp was held in Nav Adarsh Hr. Sec. School, Kathua Raghunandan Singh, Vice Chairman DDC Kathua along with, Rahul Dev, Councillor W.No. 19, Kathua and G S Katal, Director Nav Adarsh inaugurated the dental check-up and awareness camp in the School.
In the program, awareness was given to all the staff and students of the School and also an Oral Helath Survey was done. Dr. Iqbal Singh, HoD, Department of Public Health Dentistry, IGGDC Jammu in his address mentioned that Govt. Dental College has adopted Kathua and Doda districts of Jammu Province for carrying out such programs to bring awareness about Oral Health and Hygiene among the people. Similar programs were also conducted in District Court Complex, District Jail and various Panchayats of Kathua district.
Raghunandan Singh in his address appreciated the initiative taken up by the team of Dental College. He also assured that all possible assistance will be provided in organizing such programs in Kathua district and that there will be a huge participation of the residents of Kathua in these camps.
Rahul Dev while addressing congratulated the team of Dental College Jammu and management of Nav Adarsh including Principal Riti Prakash Singh on successful execution of the Camp.
Under the overall guidance of Dr. Iqbal, Dr. Ankita, Dr. Amita and their team examined the patients and deliver required guidance and consultancy.
