Govt contemplates setting up of Eco-Tourism Board: Lal Singh

JAMMU, Apr 6: With an aim to give fillip to eco-tourism activities  in the State, the Government is contemplating to set up Eco-Tourism Board.
This was informed by the Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh after inspecting the  deer park at Manda, here today.
MLA Romesh Arora, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests A K Singh, Chief Conservator of Forests, Eco and Tourism A K Gupta, Chief Conservator of Forests Roshan Jaggi, Director Soil Conservation Ravi Kesar besides other senior officers of the Forests Department accompanied the Minister.
The Minister evinced keen interest in the development of Manda Deer Park and directed the concerned to ensure proper upkeep of the park and upgradation of facilities for the visitors. He maintained that basic amenities should be developed without disturbing the natural beauty and ecology of the area.
He directed Chief Conservator of Forests, Eco and Tourism A K Gupta to ensure proper sanitation, landscaping, and irrigation facilities in the park. He asked for planting Mulberry and black plum plants in the park.
Choudhary Lal Singh directed District Forest Officer, Manda for taking up repair of animal enclosures and to ensure that proper facilities and diet is provided to the animals.
