Govt constitutes committees for implementation of FME in J&K

JAMMU, July 23: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted an Apex Level Approval Committee (ALAC) for overseeing the implementation of Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (FME) Scheme in the Union Territory.
Headed by the Chief Secretary, the ALAC shall approve surveys/studies, project implementation plan submitted by UT Nodal Agency, capacity building activities of UT and District officials, training and skill development calendars, subsidy proposals for groups for recommending to MOFPI, proposal for provision of Common facilities, groups and Marketing and Branding and Seed Capital to groups.
The ALAC shall set monthly targets for the scheme in line with the overall scheme targets and monitor the progress of the scheme through the portal. The committee shall also ensure synergy with other relevant organizations, besides inspecting units/CFC funded under the scheme.
The ALAC shall be comprising of Administrative Secretaries of various departments, Mission Director SRLM and others.
To oversee the implementation of the FME Scheme at district level in J&KL, the Government has also accorded sanction for constitution of District Level Committees, which shall be headed by the concerned District Commissioner.
The District Level Committee shall approved applications for loan and subsidy to individual micro enterprises, recommend applications for common infrastructure and groups to UT Nodal Agency, monitor hand holding support to micro enterprises and progress of the scheme besides ensuring synergy with all relevant institutions.
Each DLC shall be comprising General Manager DIC/ District Agriculture Officer/ District Horticulture officer of the concerned district, BDO to be nominated by the concerned DC, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat, district Lead Bank Manager and representatives of NABARD, Self Help Group and SRLM.
