RAJOURI, Aug 7: The Minister for Transport, Abdul Gani Kohli today said the State Government is committed to provide transparent and accountable administration which will work for the betterment and welfare of the public and fast-track development.
“Good governance is key to progress and this Government considers redress of public grievances as its highest responsibility,” Kohli said while addressing a public gathering in Dalori area of Kalakote.
Responding to the demands raised by the locals, Mr. Kohli assured that all deserving families and persons would be given BPL ration cards and old age pension. He also assured that the demand for opening of Higher Secondary School at Dalori will be vigorously pursued.
Meanwhile, he directed the officers of CA&PD Department to personally monitor the ration supply to far flung and remote areas so that the people living in these areas get hassle free supply. He also directed PDD authorities to ensure scheduled power supply to the area.
“The people should not face any inconvenience on account of power and due care should be taken to check power pilferage,” he asserted.
The Minister also asked the ARTO Rajouri to check the menace of overloading and extra charging by public transport operators.
Stressing on taking up need-based projects, the Minister asked BDO to ensure transparency while sanctioning works.
Emphasizing the need for time bound completion of various works, Kohli said that developmental projects & other welfare schemes lose their efficacy if delayed. He stressed on judicious use of funds proper coordination among departments while executing developmental schemes.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Mumtaz Choudhary, Additional Superintendent of Police, Rajouri Tejinder Singh, ACR, Paramjeet Singh Executive Engineers, PDD , R&B , PHE , ARTO , BDO and other sectoral officers accompanied the Minister.
