Govt committed to ensure industrial growth: Ganga

SAMBA, Sept 19: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga today reiterated the Government’s resolve to promote a healthy environment for entrepreneurs to run the units and support industrial growth in the State.
The Minister was speaking in a function organized by Birpur Small Scale Industries Association (BSSIA) in Bari Brahmana.
While listening the issues of the Association, the Minister directed the Managing Director SICOP R L Tickoo and General Manager DIC Jammu Vishal Sharma to redress their issues at the earliest.
The issues raised by the Association mainly included sub renting of the premises of the units which are closed or non functional for long, permission to allow commercial activities on the same premises, establishment of Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) for cluster of industries to treat the wastewater discharge from industrial units, easy process of getting permissions from DIC to change old machinery, self certification, toll exemption certificate, etc.
The Minister said as the Government has launched the online facility to register the MSMEs, same facility would be provided to the entrepreneurs soon.
Ganga while speaking to the industrialists said that the Government is fully committed to provide all possible facilities to the industrialists adding that he would personally monitor the growth of all the industrial estates.
Regional Director Pollution Control Board Shokat Choudhary was directed to provide hassle free delivery of all the requisite permissions required to run the units by the entrepreneurs.
The minister instructed the XEn PDD Samba Sanjeev Bhagat to create separate power station for the estate otherwise to provide an independent feeder so that regular supply of electricity would be provided to the units.
Earlier, the Minister also visited the units of VKC Nuts Pvt Ltd, Shalimar Cattle Feed Pvt Ltd and Shalimar Thermoforming Pvt Ltd.
MD SICOP R L Tickoo, Regional Director PCB Shokat Choudhary, GM DIC Jammu Vishal Sharma, XEn PDD Samba Sanjeev Bhagat besides Romesh Badyal, President BSSIA, Jairam Sharma, Vice President BSSIA and industrialists of the area were present in the function.
