Jammu emerges overall winner in Inter-District Athletic Meet

JAMMU, Sept 19: By securing 45 points, Jammu emerges overall winner State Level Inter District Athletic Meet Under-19 boys concluded here at M A Stadium, here.
The second place went to District Ganderbal by securing 31 points and District Poonch bagged 3rd place by scoring 30 points.
Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer J&K State Sports Council, Jammu was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony who distributed medals among the position holders.
While addressing the gathering he lavished praise on the organizers for holding the event and lauded the efforts of the participants for performing despite well in hot and humid conditions.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as part of annual calendar of sports activities under the patronage of Jahangir Mir, Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K State and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Jt. Director and Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu.
In 200 Mtrs Under-19 Boys, Rajinder of Jammu District won gold, Rafiq Ahmed of Ganderbal bagged silver and Aditya Khajuria of Kathua claimed bronze, while in 1500 Mtrs Under-19 Boys, Ankush Sharma of Udhampur District won gold, Istekar Ahmed of Poonch District clinched silver and Javed Iqbal of Jammu District claimed bronze.
In 3000 Mtrs Under-19 Boys, Bikram Singh of Ramban District bagged gold, Mukhtar Nazir of Ganderbal District won silver and Rahul Singh of Samba District claimed bronze.
Javelin Throw Under-19 Boys, Junaid-Ul-Haq of Ganderbal District won gold, while Johan Mohd of Srinagar District bagged silver and Irfan Kolhi of Jammu District claimed bronze.
Triple Jump Under-19 Boys gold, silver and bronze medals went to Ashtaiq Ahmed of Poonch District, Paramveer Singh of Jammu District and Rayies Ahmed of Srinagar District respectively.
In 4×400 Mtrs Under-19 Boys, Jammu District bagged gold, Poonch District won silver and   Samba District bronze, while 4×100 Mtrs Under-19 Boys, Poonch District, Ganderbal District and Jammu District bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively.
