JAMMU, May 7: Reaffirming Coalition Government’s priority to develop rural and far-off areas on fast track, Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education R. S. Chib today said that several state and centrally sponsored schemes have been launched across the State to materialize dream of “Khushaal Jammu and Kashmir”.
Addressing series of public gatherings in R. S. Pura, the Minister said raising of infrastructure, implementation of welfare schemes and upgradation of health infrastructure are gaining momentum and sought public cooperation in gearing up these further.
Mr Chib visited Fatehpur Brahmana and Agra Chak Panchayats, besides adjoining areas and assessed status of various development works. He announced construction of two cremation grounds, one each at Agra Chak and Fatehpur Brahmana out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Responding to local demands, the Minister directed the PWD to immediately formulate a project proposal for repair and renovation of several dilapidated roads including New Agra Chak to Old Agra Chak road, Agra Chak to Cremation ground, Agra Chak to Burial Ground and Kothi Arjun Singh to Baaspur road so that the work could be started at the earliest.
Chib also instructed the Executive Engineer M&RE to upgrade the Langreal transformer from 63 KVA to 100 KVA within next ten days. The realignment of HT Line at Langreal will also be carried out at the earliest.
Spelling out measures being initiated for development of rural and far-flung areas, Chib said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has issued specific instructions to all concerned to pay special attention towards development of those pockets which have not received desired attention in the past so that the mission of equitable development of all the areas is achieved.
He said that Panchayat representatives and common masses are vigorously supplementing the efforts of the government in this regard which reflects their firm faith in the endeavours of the present dispensation. “During the past over three years, the State has witnessed a discernible change in almost every parameters of development”, he added.
