Distributes plant saplings among farmers
RAJOURI: Minister for Animal Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli, today said the Government is committed for cent percent electrification of all rural areas.
The Minister said this while inaugurating the electrification work for village Narla Kotcharwal and Bambal.
“Reduction of transmission and distribution losses is also the prime focus of the present dispensation and for this, the government is ensuring regular monitoring,” the Minister asserted.
During the inauguration, the Minister also distributed plant saplings among farmers and asked the people to make serious efforts in further expanding forest cover in the area. He instructed the officers to pay special attention on survival of already planted saplings. He asked the officers to raise awareness among the people about the importance of plantation and maintaining green cover for survival of mankind.
Later, the Minister convened a public grievances redressal camp at Ghaibas in kalakote constituency in which the locals projected their demands and problems like shortage of water and power supply, upgradation of interior link roads, early release of old age and widow pensions, special recruitment camps for unemployed youths etc.
The Minister assured the people that all their issues would be looked into for necessary action.
The Minister asked the officials and officers of various departments to ensure regular visits to their respective areas so that development works are monitored strictly and the public issues are listened to for redressal.
The Minister, while addressing the gathering, asked the people to come forward and avail maximum benefit of various welfare schemes and programmes being undertaken by the government. He added that people have to play a participatory role which is very essential for ensuring equitable development.
Deputy Commissioner, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Director Fisheries, R.P Singh Bali, PO ICDS Nazeer Sheikh, PO IWMP Shafeeq Choudhary, Additional SP Atul Sharma, DSWO Dr. Abdul Khabir, DAHO Dr. Mohammed Ismail, Executive Engineer PDD besides other officers were also present on the occasion.
