NEW DELHI: The Government on Tuesday said it is consistently monitoring the situation of the cash-strapped Jet Airways and would support the airline with policies.

Speaking on the sidelines of a function, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said they have been constantly evaluating all airlines for safety purpose as parts of safety regulations in the skies.

“So we are closely monitoring and supervising all our airlines including Jet Airways. And of course, through our efforts to create a supportive policy environment, we are trying to benefit all airline players in the industry,” he added.

The debt-laden Jet Airways has been in talks with the Tata Sons to take over the airline, which is looking for investors. The Naresh Goyal-owned airline has been grappling with financial crisis that has resulted in delaying salaries to staff, including pilots. The airline posted a loss of Rs 1,261 crore in the three months ended September.  (AGENCIES)
