JAMMU, Nov 5: Rattan Lal Gupta slammed the Government for befooling the people by holding ‘Back to Village’ programme. Terming the programme as a mere total failure, he said that this programme has cracked a cruel joke with the elected Panchayati Raj representative and the common people of this Union Territory who are already overburdened with immense miseries due to the wrong policies of the Government.
He said that the fourth phase of Back to Village has concluded with a note of deep dissatisfaction and protest among the people in all the districts across Jammu province. He accused the Government of wasting crores of rupees out of the tax-payers’ money on the so much hyped ‘Back to Village programme’. He said not only Phase-4 but all the previous three phases too have miserably failed to produce any substantial result.
Rattan Lal Gupta, has asserted that NC is the only solution to the miseries thrust upon the people of J&K by the BJP led Government at the Centre and UT. He stated this while addressing a meeting of party workers of Samba unit held at the party headquarters Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan here, today.
Specifically referring to Samba district, he said that the border villages and Kandi belt of this region are the existing example of Government’s apathy. He said that these villages have been totally ignored so far as development is concerned. Moreover, the unemployment among youth in the border and Kandi belt is at peak as of today which Government has failed to address. He said that finding their future bleak, the unemployed are passing through a phase of utter frustration and despair because the administration has not yet fulfilled the promises made to unemployed youth to raise and recruitment Battalion of police.
Rattan Lal Gupta said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government has the dubious distinction of introducing anti-people policies but in case of the border youth the Government has failed to come out with any policy specifically meant for them.
Those who were present in the meeting included: Sheikh Bashir Ahmed provincial secretary Jammu, Brij Mohan Sharma vice president, Master Noor Hussain Ex-MLC, Vijay Lochan provincial president SC Cell and others.
