Govt asks for re-submitting of documents as records damaged in floods

JAMMU, Oct 17: Claiming that all the records pertaining to regularization of Adhoc/ Contractual and Consolidated employees of various department got damaged in recent floods, the State Finance department has asked all the Administrative Secretaries to resubmit the required information of the employees, whose cases have been found eligible by the Empowered Committee and were notified for objections, within ten days positively.
Re-furnish case files of all such employees afresh along with the documents viz initial appointment order, continuation orders, DoD, educational qualification certificates, State subject, Work and Conduct Certificate, Drawl Statement and Technical qualification, which were received and were pending for examination with the Empowered Committee in Finance Department, by October 27, says a circular issued today by the Finance Department.
As per the Government, the records of Special Cell in Finance Department, Civil Secretariat at Srinagar, pertaining to regularization of Adhoc/ Contractual and Consolidated employees of various departments got damaged in recent devastating floods. After great efforts, a minimal quantity of records was retrieved but after examination, it was found that it could not in any way serve the purpose for which these were called for, Government claims.
Even as particulars of employees found eligible in 43rd meeting of EC were published in local dailies for inviting objections, the mandatory period elapsed during the floods thus necessitating it to republish for maintaining the transparency, the Government explains.
In respect of cases pending examination with Empowered Committee, these are to be called afresh so that these can be examined and placed before EC for scrutiny, says the circular issued by Principal Secretary Finance Department.
