JAMMU, June 22: For expeditious trial of rape and POCSO cases in Jammu and Kashmir, UT Government today appointed Public Prosecutors in the Fast Track Courts.
According to an order in this regard, issued today by the Home Department, Suresh Kumar has been appointed as PP in the Fast Track Court (POCSO) Jammu and Special Fast Track court (Rape Cases) Jammu while Anil Dev Jamwal has been appointed as Additional PP in the Fast Track Court (POCSO), Srinagar.
Rohit Gupta has been posted as Addl PP in the Court of Fast Track Court, Doda and Spl PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge Doda (designated Anti Corruption Court), Koushal Kumar as Addl PP in the Court of Fast Track Court Ramban, Tahseem Bashir Balti as Addl PP in the Fast Track Court Kupwara and Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge Handwara, Mohammad Rafiq as Addl PP in the Fast Track Court Budgam and Zia-ul Rehman Khan as Additional PP in Fast Track Court Kulgam
In the order, the Home Department also appointed some other officers of J&K Prosecution Service as PP, Addl PP, Spl PP and Asst PP for conducting criminal cases in the courts.
Afaq Ahmad Peer has been appointed as PP in the Court of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Anantnag, Nazir Ahmad as PP in the Court of Principal District & Sessions Judge Baramulla, Javaid Ahmad Bhat as PP in the Court of Principal District & Sessions Judge Pulwama, Mohd Maqbool Shah as Additional PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Ashiq Hussain as Addl PP in the Court of Ist Addl District & Sessions Judge, Baramulla, Mumtaz Saleem Mir as Addl PP in the Court of Ist Addl District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Anil Mangotra as PP in the Court of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur, Shaheen Ahmad Khan as PP in the Court of Principal District & Sessions Judge Rajouri, Vijay Sudan as Spl PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri ( designated Anti Corruption Court) and Addl PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge Rajouri.
Syed Jehangir Ahmad has been appointed as PP in the Court of Principal District & Sessions Judge Kupwara, Rajesh Sharma as Addl PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge, Kathua and Spl PP in Addl District & Sessions Judge Kathua (designate Anti Corruption Court), Himanshu Prakash as Spl PP in the Court of Addl Sessions Court Udhampur (designated Anti Corruption Court) and Addl PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur, Najeeb Hussain Nehavi as Addl PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge Pulwama, Syed Mushtaq Ahmad as Addl PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge, Anantnag, Khursheed Ahmad Setari as Spl PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge, Pulwama (designated Anti Corruption Court), Zainul-Abudin as Spl PP in the Court of Ist Addl District & Sessions Judge Baramulla (designated Anti-Corruption Court), Aijaz Ahmad Parvaiz as Spl PP in the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge Anantnag ( Designated Anti Corruption Court), Wajahat Jamil as Spl PP in the Court of Addl District Special Judge ( Anti-Corruption) Srinagar, Aamir Rahim as Asst PP in the Court of Sub Judge, Chadoora, Jaweed Ahmad Sheikh as Asst PP in the Court of Sub-Judge, Bijbehara and Special Mobile Magistrate, Anantnag, Javid Manzoor as Asst PP in the Court of Sub-Judge Baramulla, Spl Mobile Magistrate, Baramulla and Munsif, Baramulla.
As a result of these transfers in the Prosecution Cadre, none of the courts, including the Magisterial Courts, is without a Prosecutor for conducting the trial on behalf of the State. This has been done without diluting the focus on the campaign to punish the corrupt by providing Special PPs in the designated courts for dealing with cases registered under the relevant Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
