Governor to inaugurate JK Science Congress tomorrow

JAMMU, Mar 12: Governor N N Vohra will formally inaugurate the 10th JK Science Congress, which is being hosted by Jammu University on March 14-16.
During the three-day mega event, around 800 researchers from various institutions of the State and country are participating. The proceedings will cover diverse topics of current and future interest.
This was informed by Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma while addressing a press conference, here today.
“University of Jammu is all set to host the scientific event-10th JK Science Congress on the theme “Science and Technology for Inclusive Development: A way forward” scheduled from March 14,” he said.
Prof Sharma said that objective of organizing this Congress is to provide the platform for the budding researchers and scientists to interact, develop scientific temperament among the youth, disseminating information about the latest developments in Science and Technology and to look into the applications of Science and Technology at the grass root level. “People having done pioneer work in their respective fields have been invited to the Congress wherein 11 Young Scientist awards shall be given in the various subjects,” he added.
Prof K K Sharma is Organizing Secretary of the JK Science Congress while Prof Rajni Dingra is Co-Organizing Secretary and Prof Vibhakar Mansotra is Convenor, Press & Publicity Committee. The trio, along with JU Registrar Prof Manoj K Dhar and PRO Vinay Thusoo were also present in the press conference.
