SRINAGAR, June 16: As directed by the Governor, N.N. Vohra, Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), Jitendra K. Singh, Additional CEO, SASB, R.K. Pandita, GM (Works), and other concerned officers returned today after a daylong visit to the Panjtarni Camp.
Later, in a review meeting held at the Raj Bhavan, the Governor discussed with P.K Tripathi, CEO, SASB, Additional CEO, and GM (Works) the to-date progress of work on the Domel-Sangam-Panjtarni track and the repair work which is ongoing at the Panjtarni Camp site.
Addl CEO informed the Chairman that work on the restoration/improvement of track from Baltal-Holy Cave is complete; Base Hospital, huts, toilets and baths have been erected at Panjtarni elements of the Army have reached Panjtarni; the site for setting up Medical Aid Centre (MAC) at Railpatri has been identified; and an additional Emergency Aid Centre will be set up by the State Health Department between Railpatri and Brarimarg.
Addl. CEO also informed Governor that the State Health Department will be establishing a Base Hospital and ISM Camp at Panjtarni Yatra Camp, besides the installation of Medical Camps by BSF and CRPF; 321 toilets/baths; 900 tents; and 50 shops will be installed at Panjtarni during Yatra 2015. Besides, 14 pucca structures are under repair/restoration by PDA at Panjtarni for use as the Medical Camp and as disaster shelters.
Addl. CEO also reported that at Baltal Base Camp all facilities relating to the establishment of Base Hospital, electricity, water supply, toilets, baths, and communication systems have been put in place.
The Governor has directed CEO to daily review and inform him about the progress of all repair/renovation work which is presently underway at various camps on both the routes.
