SRINAGAR, May 20: Dr. Sri Kumar Banerjee, noted nuclear scientist and Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir (CUK) met Governor, N.N. Vohra, who is Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu (CUJ) and informed him about the to-date status of infrastructural development of CUK in district Ganderbal. The Governor informed Dr. Banerjee about the present position regarding the growth of CUJ’s Campus in village Bagla in district Samba.
The Chancellors exchanged views and experiences about difficulties arising from the scarcity of experienced and qualified teachers and also discussed larger issues relating to the purposeful advancement of higher education in J&K. For ensuring rapid and balanced growth of both the Central Universities the Chancellors agreed that it would be profitable for having regular interactions between the two Vice- Chancellors and, besides, participation in each others Executive Committees for securing mutually beneficial convergences.
