Governor, CM greet people on Janamashtami

SRINAGAR, Aug 24: Governor N. N. Vohra has greeted the people on Janamashtami and expressed hope that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of peace, harmony, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the divine message of Lord Krishna, enshrined in the Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, exhorts mankind to strive for the ultimate truth and to do one’s duty to the best of one’s ability without worrying about the benefits to be gained. He observed that adherence to such values provides a firm foundation of a stable and harmonious society.
On this auspicious occasion, the Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has also greeted people on Janamashtami.
In her message, the Chief Minister while greeting the people expressed the hope that this auspicious occasion will usher Jammu and Kashmir into an era of peace, harmony and prosperity.
Mehbooba said J&K has the rich tradition of communal harmony, brotherhood and tolerance and people have maintained this tradition despite provocations. She hoped that the bonds of communal amity will be strengthened further and these traditions are passed-on to future generations.
The Chief Minister also prayed for wellbeing of the people of the State.
