Governor asks sablo to provide only prescribed diet to pilgrims

SRINAGAR, May 25: A 4-member delegation of the representatives of the Shri Amarnath Barfani Langar Organisation (SABLO) called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today.
The delegation was led by Rajan Gupta, General Secretary of SABLO.
Interacting with the delegation, the Governor emphasized that the Langar service, at each of the identified places, should be ensured to operate till the conclusion of the pilgrimage, to avoid any inconvenience to the yatris. He asked SABLO to ensure that the Langars provide food to the pilgrims as per the Food Menu prescribed by the Expert Committee, which takes into account the nutritional requirements of the pilgrims keeping in view the high altitude and difficult climatic conditions in the Yatra area. He observed that all the stakeholders need to work together to ensure that the pilgrims enjoy a very good yatra and go back with happy memories about the arrangements.
Appreciating the gesture of SABLO for contributing Rs. 2,01,000 to the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board for the implementation of the Board’s initiatives to protect the environment in the yatra area, the Governor reiterated the crucial importance of SABLO ensuring that every Langar maintains hygienic conditions in and around its premises, during the entire Yatra period and at the time of winding up its services, for protecting the environment of the area.
The Governor launched SABLO’s website on this occasion and asked Rajan Gupta for cross-link it with the website of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board to enable the yatris to access Yatra related information, particularly the facilities available in the Yatra area and the Do’s and Don’ts to be followed by yatris. This Website of SABLO can be accessed at two domains:www.amarnathyatrasablo.com and www.sablo.org.
The SABLO delegation assured the Governor, who is the Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, that they will fully comply with his directions and devote special attention for maintaining cleanliness in the entire yatra area, particularly in and around the Langar areas.
Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor and Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, briefed the Governor about the to-date status of the registration for the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra as well as bookings of helicopters and other arrangements.
The delegation comprised Rajan Kapoor, Pankaj Soni and Harsh Rishi, Members of SABLO.
