Governor should also attend POJK refugees’ issue : Chuni

JAMMU, Feb 1: Carrying out its drive of organizing rallies of PoJK displaced persons  in various parts of Jammu district, S O S International, an organization for  displaced persons organized a rally at Master Devi Chand Park, Rehari Colony here today.
While addressing the gathering, S O S International chairman, Rajiv Chuni said  that Governor has taken over the reigns of the State for the last one month. Mr Vohra  is worried about the flood victims but he  should also pay his attention towards PoJK displaced persons.
He said the S O S International sought time from the Governor but for the last one month  he hasn’t been showing any interest to meet with them.  “SOS  likes to tell Governor that flood victims are the victims of natural calamity and SOS International extends their sympathy with them but we are also victims of Pakistan’s invasion, PoK refugees do deserve ample attention of head of the State” he added.
Chuni  further said that all the demands pertaining to the PoK DPs have already been placed before Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) and JPC has recommended all demands viz. Rs 30 Lakh to each PoK refugee family, 2% reservation for the wards of PoK DPs in professional and technical institutions across India, monthly cash relief till resettlement in native places, free ration, 8 seats in Legislative Assembly, 2 seats in J&K Legislative Council, constitution of Refugee Development Board, employment package for unemployed youths, interest free loans to over age youths for business purpose etc.   He stated that JPC has done a commendable job by conceding to all demands.
Others who addressed the gathering include Dr Gurmeet Singh, Lalit Kumar, Roshan Lal, Sanjay Kohli, Sharda Devi, Sat Paul Lakha, Rakesh Sharma, Bishan Saroop and Vinay Sharma.
