JAMMU, Sept 17: A meeting of Governing Body was held at Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu, here today under the chairmanship of Prof M P S Ishar, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu.
The meeting was attended by the Governing Body Members, including Prof S P Sarswat, Member Secretary and Principal GCW Parade Ground, Jammu; Prof Neelam Saraf, former Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu; Prof Veena Gupta, former Head of Department, GCW Gandhinagar; Dr Avinash Gupta, Head of Department , Chemistry, GCW Parade; Dr Sonia Khajuria, Department of English GCW Parade and Prof S K Dhar, Convener IQAC, GCW Parade.
The meeting was conducted in hybrid mode . Prof M P S Ishar joined the meeting through online mode and rest other members joined offline. Prof Sarswat read out the report on the initiatives taken by the College, as an Autonomous institution and highlighted the progress made by the College in the areas of examination process, curriculum aspect, implication of LOCF and augmentation of physical infrastructure of the college, since 2014.
Thereafter, agendas of the meeting were discussed and necessary suggestions were documented. The chairman and the other Governing body members appreciated the Principal and the entire team of the College on the conferment of the extension of the Autonomous Status of College (2nd Cycle), the implementation of NEP-2020 in the current session of 2022-23 and other progressive developments initiated by the college.
