JAMMU, Apr 15: Setting up four Group of Ministers (GoMs) by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and her council of ministers for suggesting measures and taking steps to implement “Agenda of Alliance” on economic and infrastructure development besides policy making and human resources is a wise decision which will go a long way in enabling both political parties to work in tandem and deliver to its optimum capacity.
This was stated by People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former member J&K State Advisory Board for Gujjars and Bakerwals, Abdul Hamid Choudhary.
In a meeting of party workers, Choudhary Hamid said that with constitution of these groups of ministers, the Government will not get deviated from its well tread path and ensure implementation of all State as well as central schemes.
He said that development of all three regions of State including implementation of Prime Minister’s Re-Construction Plan is mandated to these GoMs which will go a long way in ensuring both economic and infrastructural development of Jammu and Kashmir in specified time frame and without any hurdles. This GoM will also help alliance partners to coordinate well and reach consensus on all developmental issues amicably, he added.
Choudhary Hamid said Late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s resolve was to make Jammu and Kashmir a model State for which this GoM will prove to be a boon. From ensuring coordination between different departments, preparing agendas, suggest measures for development and ensure greater participation in decision making of different departments of the State Government will all fall under the purview of these groups, he stated.
PDP leader urged the people of State to reap benefits of both State and Central schemes that have especially been designed to suit common people living in even remote areas. These schemes have also been designed keeping in view the different strata of society and different needs of people of all three regions of the State, Choudhary added.
