JAMMU, Apr 27: Dogra Hr. Secondary School, Shastri Nagar Jammu celebrated its 50 Years of excellence by organising a seminar on the Topic “Dogri Language and Dogra Monuments” in its premises, here today.
The seminar was held under the supervision of Managing Director DHSS Gambhir Dev Singh Charak and Principal Davinder Kour in collaboration with S.G. Foundation.
Davinder Kour, Principal, DHSS welcomed the Chief Guest, students and teachers of the participating institutions.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak Hon’ble Former Minister & President Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K was the Chief Guest on the occasion who has always inspired students to understand the importance of Dogri language & taken lead in preservation of Dogra monuments, which depict the rich history of own culture and traditions.
Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Anita Baloria, HOD History Department Jammu University, S.M. Saini Convenor INTACH Jammu Chapter and Dr. N.K. Dogra Ex Controller Examination, Jammu University were also present as Special Guests and adjudged the participants on the occasion.
Students of different schools of Jammu participated in the event. They spoke about the importance of Dogri language & Dogra monuments. Supriya Uttam of Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, stood First, Sakshi Shan of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Satwari stood Second, Jasmeet Kaur of Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana stood Third in the said competition and Consolation prize went to Priya Malhotra of Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar Jammu.
Students were given refreshment and certificates of participation.
A special vote of thanks was presented by Nirmala Koul, Vice Principal of the school.
