JAMMU, May 12: General Officer Commanding (GOC) of White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General PK Mishra today reviewed the operational preparedness and prevailing security situation in the strategically significant Pir Panjal region during his visit to various forward and operational areas.
During the visit, senior Army commanders briefed him on the current security scenario, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, intelligence-based operational framework and the counter-infiltration grid functioning across the region.
The Corps Commander reviewed the readiness of troops deployed in remote and sensitive areas and assessed surveillance mechanisms, area domination exercises and coordination among different security agencies.
He appreciated the professionalism, alertness and dedication of troops operating in challenging terrain and stressed the need for maintaining high vigilance, proactive operations and effective intelligence gathering to thwart attempts by anti-national elements to disturb peace in the region.
Lt Gen Mishra also interacted with officers, JCOs and jawans deployed in operational areas and commended them for their commitment towards maintaining peace and stability.
He said the recent operational successes reflected strong coordination among the Army, Police, intelligence agencies and civil administration.
The Corps Commander also reviewed welfare measures and administrative facilities for troops deployed in forward areas and appreciated their resilience and sacrifices in safeguarding national security.
