GMC to shift back Psychiatric OPD, patients

JAMMU, Nov 3: The administration of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu today decided to shift back Psychiatric OPD (presently accommodated in ward number 1 of GMC) and OPD to Psychiatric Hospital.
“The decision was taken by Principal, GMC Jammu, Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma in consultation with Medical Superintendents of GMC Jammu and Psychiatric Hospital, besides faculty members of the Psychiatric Hospital,” an order issued by the Principal, GMC Jammu said.
The GMC Principal also repatriated all nursing, paramedical and Class IV staff of Psychiatric Hospital (deputed to work in GMC Jammu) back to Psychiatric Hospital and directed them to report to Medical Superintendent, Psychiatric Hospital, Jammu with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, issuing another order, the Principal GMC Jammu directed to shift Chest Diseases patients, which are presently admitted in Super Speciality Hospital (SSH) Jammu, to (MCH) designated COVID Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on one of its floor so that the patients of Urology and Nephrology can be accommodated in SSH wards vacated by the Chest Disease patients.
The order stated that the Chest Disease patients will be kept on one of the floor of MCH Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Jammu and rest of the floors and theatres can be used for COVID patients with separate corridors/areas for movement.
