JAMMU, Feb 14: Government Medical College Rajouri secured NOC/ Affiliation from University of Jammu for starting three degree courses each in various Paramedical Branches with total intake capacity of 120 seats.
The branches include BSc in Medical Lab Technology, BSc Operation Theatre Technology and BSc Renal Dialysis Technology. The proposal for starting of these courses was submitted by J&K Paramedical Council to the Administrative Department which was subsequently approved by the latter.
Financial Commissioner, Atal Dulloo said that these courses are being started for the first time in GMC Rajouri as well as in GMC Kathua and earlier the students had to travel outside J&K to pursue these courses.
He further informed that the process of seeking permissions for starting of these courses in GMC Srinagar, GMC Doda, GMC Anantnag and GMC Baramulla is going on and altogether around 600 candidates would be accommodated every year who will also be working hands in GMC’s and associated hospitals.
Dr Sandeep Singh, Registrar J&K Paramedical Council stated that these courses shall be conducted in different departments of the two Medical Colleges with existing faculty and the admission to these courses shall be conducted by Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE).
