GMC organizes orientation programme for PG students

JAMMU, July 12: The Medical Education Unit of GMC Jammu conducted a successfully induction and orientation programme for nearly 154 Post Graduate (PG) students of various disciplines.
Principal, GMC Jammu, Dr Sunanda Raina, in her address to the newly joined students, said that she targets GMC Jammu to become the institute of academic excellence, a place of perfect and comprehensive patient care and a place where research is generated with ethics, morals, human values and safe guarding patient safety and well being.
She told the newly joined postgraduate students that this is the time when they can learn maximum from their teachers and guide. She advised them to work with dedication and passion for the needy and poor patients and do justice with the noblest profession they all have chosen.
Co-ordinator for MEU, Dr Ashok Sharma, in his address, assured that he will continue all his efforts to continue series of lectures and CME for the academic advancement of faculty and residents. He said in near future lectures on topics like CPR, Thesis and scientific paper writing skills and complete module for research methodology will be organized, which will go long way in generating quality research from this prestigious institution.
He said they are also working with curriculum committee to frame revised, ugraded and latest medical curriculum for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Dr Bella Mahajan, Dr Vishal R Tandon, Dr Manu Arora and Dr Sandya Arora delivered series of lectures in the programme.
