Srinagar, Aug 30: Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, has constituted an internal complaint committee for the implementation of various provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013.
The 5-member committee will be headed by Prof. (Dr.) Hina Bashir, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, who has been designated as the Chairperson.
“In supersession of all previous orders Governing the subject, sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of the Internal Complaint Committee… to enquire into and dispose of complaints received, if any, regarding sexual harassment at the workplace against women employees of Government Medical College and its associated hospitals,” read an order issued in this regard.
Apart from Prof. (Dr.) Hina Bashir, other members of the committee include Dr. Arshad Hussain, Professor, Department of Psychiatry; Tehleela Asmat, Chief Accounts Officer, GMC Srinagar; Nadia Khanday, Accounts Officer, GMC Srinagar; and Nuzhat Wani, Assistant Legal Remembrancer, GMC Srinagar.
