JAMMU, Aug 18: Government Medical College (GMC) Doda today secured affiliation from University of Jammu for starting three degree courses in Paramedical branches with total intake capacity of 60 seats.
The branches in which the courses will be started are Medical Lab Technology, Operation Theatre and Renal Dialysis Technology.
Dr Nasib Chand Digra, president, J&K Paramedical Council (JKPC) said that the proposal of starting of BSc Paramedical courses in different medical colleges of J&K was submitted by J&K Paramedical Council to the Administrative Department which was subsequently approved by the Administrative Department.
He further said that these courses will go a long way in catering to the needs of the Health & Medical Education Department and benefit the students who had to travel outside the UT to pursue these courses.
Dr Sandeep Singh, Registrar, J&K Paramedical Council, stated that these courses shall be conducted in various departments of GMC Doda with existing faculty only. He further said that JKPC has now secured affiliation for starting of BSc Paramedical courses in all the Government Medical Colleges of Jammu Division with total intake capacity of 290 seats and the process of seeking permissions for Medical Colleges of Kashmir Division is going on.
Dr A S Bhatia, Controller Examinations, JKPC stated that the admission to these courses shall be conducted by Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE).
