SRINAGAR, Sept 12: In a significant feat, doctors at Government Medical College (GMC), Baramulla, performed two pacemaker implantations today, bringing the total number of such life-saving procedures conducted at the hospital to 22.
These procedures are covered under the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), providing financial relief to patients.
Dr. Mudasir Muzammil, from the Department of Cardiology, shared insights about the ongoing pacemaker implantations at the hospital, terming it as an achievement and much needed facility for the patients.
He revealed that over the past six months, the hospital has successfully carried out nearly 22 such procedures, offering patients a ray of hope without any financial burden.
“We have state-of-the-art facilities available for cardiology patients at the hospital, including a Super Specialty clinic dedicated to patient care,” Dr. Muzammil stated, acknowledging the unwavering support of the hospital’s Principal, Dr. Ruby Reshi, and Medical Superintendent, Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, along with other collaborating departments.
