Srinagar, Aug 19: In a significant move towards academic excellence, the Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla today launched the Mortality Meeting and Grand Round Presentation (GRP) program for the very first time.
As per a statement issued by the GMC, Baramulla, Dr Yasir Bashir, Assistant Professor in the Department of General Medicine at GMC Baramulla, led the inaugural session of this pivotal meeting.
“Dr Bashir, who also holds the responsibility for overseeing mortality meetings and grand round presentations at GMC Baramulla, emphasized the crucial role these gatherings play,” it said.
Such sessions, GMC said, provide a platform to critically assess patient care protocols, identify potential shortcomings, and collectively work towards continuous improvement.
The event garnered a diverse audience, including Heads of Departments, faculty members, consultants, senior residents, DNB trainees, junior residents, and paramedical staff.
“The wide-ranging participation underscores the institution’s dedication to fostering collaborative learning and multidisciplinary engagement.”
Dr Parvaiz Masoodi, the Medical Superintendent of Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, expressed appreciation for the scientific approach of Prof. Dr Ruby Reshi, the Principal of GMC Baramulla.
