JAMMU, Jan 17: GLS Public School, Talab Tillo Jammu celebrated its 18th Annual Sports Day in the school campus, here today.
The occasion was marked by plethora of games and sports events in which the students’ from Class Nursery to Class 10th participated with great enthusiasm.
School Administrator, Gurpreet Singh in his address emphasized on the importance of physical activities in today’s technology driven life wherein children are becoming habitual of spending most of their time with electronic gadgets like Smart Phones, Laptops and Television.
He further added that games and sports inculcate a spirit of healthy competition and team spirit among the children.
The playground was decorated with flags, buntings and balloons a day earlier. The students of the school grabbed the opportunity to show their talents in various sporting events.
The kindergarten wing of the school, GLS Kids Cocoon Nursery students participated in various games like Frog Race, Crawling, Sack Race, Jelly Fish Race, Bouncing Ball Race, Toys Collecting Hurdle/Obstacle Race, Passing the Hoop, Filling the Bucket and Three-legged Race.
The Primary and Senior wing students participated in 100 mtrs Race, 200 mtrs Race, Badminton, Volleyball, Table Tennis and Kho-Kho.
The winners will be presented medals and certificates on the Annual Day which will be celebrated in February 2018.
