BJP celebrates Good Governance Day

JAMMU, Dec 25: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today celebrated the birthday of former Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee as Good Governance Day and in this connection various functions were organised at different places in the UT of J&K including party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here.
At Trikuta Nagar function J&K BJP UT president, Ravinder Raina was the chief guest who paid glowing tribute to the former Prime Minister. Former Dy. CM, Kavinder Gupta, DDC Chairman, Bharat Bhushan and Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta also addressed the function.
The programme was organized by BJP’s Department of Good Governance & Centre State Coordination under the leadership of its State convenor, Arun Gupta.
Ravinder Raina, while paying tribute to the great statesman, and party ideologue, Bharat Ratna Atal Behari Vajpayee said that nation will always remember his services for the centuries to come. UN’s First Hindi speech was delivered by Atal Ji and that too when he was the leader of opposition. That was the flawless personality of Atal Ji, he said and added that Atal Ji was a dedicated politician, poet and social activist. He said that Atal Ji was friend of everyone and even tried to create friendly relations even with neighboring country Pakistan.
Kavinder Gupta narrated the beautiful moments with the former Prime Minister and recited a poem composed by Vajpayee. Arun Gupta enlightened all with the significance of Good Governance Day. He said that it was the vision of Atal Ji to provide such governance to people which is embedded with virtues of dedication and discipline becomes good governance.
Bharat Bhushan and Chander Mohan Gupta narrated the life events of Vajpayee and asked all to imbibe spirit of strong nationalism in them.
Stage proceedings were conducted by department co-convenor, Dr. Akshay Sharma along with co-convenor Ajay Baru. Vijay Shastri presented vote of thanks on the occasion.
The BJP All Cells J&K while celebrating the day organized three mega programmes at Kathua, Jammu and Udhampur.
BJP held a function at Samba also where the senior party leader and MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest. The function was also graced by DDC chairman, Samba , Keshav Dutt, former Minister and party general secretary, Dr D K Manyal and former Minister and party vice president, Surjit Singh Salathia. They paid glowing tribute to Vajpayee on the occasion.
The BJP All Cells J&K in-charge Rakesh Mahajan organized these programmes.
In Kathua, the programme was held at the party office and was presided over by the general secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul. In Jammu the programme was organized at Eden Garden and was presided over by Vibodh Gupta, J&K BJP general secretary while the third programme was organized at Udhampur. Rich tribute were paid to Atal Behari Vajpayee in all these programmes.
While paying rich tribute to the late PM Vajpayee at Kathua, Ashok Koul highlighted the principles of good governance as extracted from the ancient Indian ethos and based upon the basic democratic tenets of Indian scriptures. He said that it is an irony that successive Governments at the Centre for about seven decades paid no heed to these fundamental principles that led to chaotic situations.
Vibodh Gupta, while addressing the function at Eden Garden in Jammu, said that the idea of good governance though already enshrined in India’s historical scriptures, yet the credit of bringing to limelight the principles of good governance goes to the former Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee.
Rakesh Mahajan, in charge BJP All Cells Jammu and Kashmir also paid tribute to Atal Ji.
Former vice chairman Phaari Development Board and senior BJP leader Kuldeep Raj Gupta also paid rich tribute to Vajpayee at a function held at Rajouri today. He termed Vajpayee a great visionary leader and a statesman who had laid an indelible mark on Indian politics.
On the directions of Braham Jyot Satti , president BJP OBC Morcha, the Morcha paid glowing tribute to Bharat Ratna and former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee on various places across the J&K.
Another function was held at Talab Tillo organised by BJP booth president Manoj Tandon.
Mandal president, Keshav Chopra also paid glowing tribute to Vajpayee on the occasion. Rich tribute were also paid to Vajpayee by BJP secretary and corporator, Sanjay Baru at a function at Jammu today.
Good governance day was also celebrated at Kargil in Ladakh, where rich tribute were paid by party leaders, Mohammed Ali Majaz, Mohammad Hassan Pasha, Lila Banoo, Zanab Ji and Kacho Mohammad to Vajpayee.
In this regard a programme was organised at Lakhri Ramkot in Billawar constituency by State executive member BJP Advocate Pankaj Basotra and which was attended by senior party leaders, including Mandal Pardhan BJP Vipan Sharma , District President BJP OBC capt. Tara Chand , Mandal pardhan yuva morcha Tikka Sharma , district vice president Yuva morcha Roshan Panotra and many panches and sarpanches.
Advocate Pankaj Basotra while addressing the gathering said that Atal Behari Vajpayee has set an unparalleled example of public working in the world history. He said that the former PM always considered “Rashtra Dharma” above everything and preached the noble thought of selfless working to all.
