JAMMU, Oct 23: The 139th birthday of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra, was celebrated here, today with great enthusiasm.
On this occasion glowing tribute were paid to Sher-e-Duggar, former president of Praja Parishad and Bharatiya Jana Sangh at a function organised by Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Trust here, today.
The function was led by its chairman, Parshotam Dadhichi who garlanded the statue of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra at Dogra Chowk, here alongwith other Trustees, Dayaram Sharma, Subash Chandyal, Aseem Gupta and Shyam Sundar, Advocate Nanda and corporator Amit Kumar.
On this occasion, chairman of the Trust recalled the dedication and devotion of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra to the nation and particularly to the people and region of Jammu. Pt. Dogra fought for the cause of nation as well as Dogras due to his honest and sincere approach towards the problem of Jammu region as well as erstwhile State. He launched the agitation against permit system and total integration of J&K with India and the agitation for removal of Article 370 was quite successful.
Trust made an appeal to the present State administration to pay special attention and earmark budget for the development of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra birth place Smailpur and also to establish a chair in Jammu University in the name of Pt. Premnath Dogra so that the coming generations be in a position to know, study and make research of the period of Pt. Dogra.
