JAMMU, May 22: Glocal University, Saharnpur, a UGC recognized private university, today invited the students of Jammu province and Kashmiri migrants to pursue higher education in various streams of the university offering a special package in the form of discounted fee as a token of love for the region.
Announcing the special package for Jammuites and Kashmiri migrants, Prof B L Raina, Vice Chancellor of Glocal University and a son of the soil, said they have special love for the region and decided to contribute towards upliftment of the students by way of offering discounts so that students of Jammu region and Kashmiri migrants can avail benefits from the university. He said that Glocal University has tried to accommodate people from Jammu and Kashmir in staff and faculty adding many faculty members from the State are serving in the university.

Prof Raina elaborated that the University has highly qualified faculty who have got their degrees from reputed IITs in the country and abroad. “The institution is located at suitable place. It is just a few minutes distance from Dehradun. Now, we have also direct flights from Dehradun to Jammu and Kashmir. So, the travel is easier,” he said.
He further said that Glocal University is offering special discounts to the Kashmiri students on all courses. “We offer courses including MBBS, BAMS, BUMS, ANM, GNM, B Sc Nursing, Physiotherapy, Paramedical courses, Science and Technology, Polytechnic, Business and Commerce, Law, Agricultural Sciences, Mass Communication and others,” he added.
He said that the University also has a medical college which benefits the students in two ways. “First the students from medical stream do their practical here and second, the students are entitled of free medical treatment in it,” he added and asked parents and students to visit the campus before making their decision.
Giving details regarding the special fee package for Jammu province and Kashmiri migrants for the academic year 2017-18, Prof Raina said that more details regarding the university and other things can be obtained from the university website.
