JAMMU, Sept 15: A meeting under the chairmanship of Dr Kasturi Lal, ex-Principal, Medical College, was held here today to discuss the arrangements for ‘Globathon Walk’ scheduled to be held September 29, 2013.
The motive behind the Globathon Walk is to spread awareness among the public about women cancer so that it can be vanished from roots.
During the meeting, the speakers were of the view that deaths due to cancer are more in population where there is lack of awareness regarding this dreadful disease.
“Awareness at State level can occur through media coverage of the events aimed at educating the public”, they added.
Giving details regarding the Globathon walk, Dr Kasturi Lal, said that the walk would start at 8:30 am on September 29, 2013. Venues for the walk shall be University of Jammu Campus, Women College Parade, Women College Gandhi Nagar and UP Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat, he further informed.
Ram Paul Sharma, a social worker, Shashi Gupta, principal, Medical College, Dr Jasbir Singh, Ex Director Health, SK Jain and other eminent members were also present in the meeting.
