JAMMU, July 30: Former Minister and State NCP chief Thakur Randhir Singh while appreciating the major step taken by Chief Minister Mehboba Mufti to initiate the process of preparing dossiers of habitual land grabbers for booking them under the Public Safety Act (PSA) has asked as to how many habitual land grabbers have been booked under PSA.
Mr Singh said it is unfortunate that no Deputy Commissioner in Jammu province has taken this serious issue in black and white except DC Jammu who has ordered that all Tehsildars would act before August 5, if they fail, there will be adverse affect on their ACR’S .
Mr Singh further said in Tehsil Kathua, there are known land grabbers who have joined brick kilns mafia and violated the revenue and agricultural land rules and even sold Cooperative Jandore Brick Kiln land to a known owner of brick kilns.
R S Billowaria, General Secretary and chief spokesman NCP said that commercialization of agricultural land goes unabated. He said Human Watch International had filed the PIL seeking directions regarding the agriculture land conversion into residential housing colonies in violation of law including J&K Land Revenue Act, J&K Agrarian Reforms Act and other land laws. But who will bell the cat in district Kathua when protectors (Revenue officials ) themselves were involved in the menace and back property dealers.
Other senior leaders Krishan Kumar Digra ,Vice President NCP , Raj Singh Jamwal General Secretary , incharge organization NCP , Dr Liaquat Ali Magray , Vice President NCP, Javed F Rehman , Vice President NCP, Satpal Sharma Vice President NCP, Sandeep Singh Manhas, Abhimanyu Pratap Singh Jamwal, T K Koul ,Rishi Koul President State NYC and Rattan Lal have raised serious allegations against the land mafia in Jammu and Samba where the land mafia is being encouraged by the revenue authorities.
