JAMMU, July 24: A 25-year-old girl tried to end her life by slitting her throat in Trikuta Nagar area of Jammu.
“Lakshmi daughter of Pappu, resident of Punjab (at present living in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu) allegedly slit her throat with the help of a shaving blade in a park near Bahu Plaza,” said police sources. They said that the love affair may be the reason behind this extreme step taken by the girl.
Sources said the girl was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu where she got 4-5 stitches on her throat. Her condition was stable, they said and added that she is yet to record her statement. “However, Trikuta Nagar police had taken cognizance of the matter,” sources added.
