JAMMU, Mar 23: A 23-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
“The girl identified as Sonia daughter of Madan Lal, resident of Bhardal Khurd (Akhnoor) jumped into a well near her residence late last night”, a police official said.
He said that body of the girl was fished out this morning and after conducting postmortem at Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites. “In this connection, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC have been initiated at police station Akhnoor”, the official added.
