JAMMU, Aug 24: A girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Chakroi area of tehsil RS Pura, a police official said.
The deceased has been identified as Meenakshi Devi, daughter of Vidhi Chand of Chakroi, tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites.
Inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC has been initiated by RS Pura Police in this regard.
