JAMMU, Jan 24: A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Digiana area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the girl identified as Manisha, daughter of Hari Ram and resident of Madhya Pradesh, was found in unconscious condition at her present residence at Sanjay Nagar by her parents.
“They rushed her to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors,” he said, adding the deceased appears to have committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance.
He said after postmortem body was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceedings in the case have been initiated by concerned police.
