Ghagwal police rescues 10 bovines

SAMBA, Oct, 9: District Police Samba foiled two consecutive attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing 10 bovines from bovine smugglers in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding smuggling of bovines towards Kashmir valley, a police party of PS Ghagwal during surprise vehicle checking Naka near Babar Nallah, Rajpura, signalled a Mahindra Vehicle without Registration Number coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley via Border Road, Rajpura to stop.
Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed and tried to escape from the naka party but the cops chased the vehicle and intercepted it a few metres away from the naka point. However the driver managed to escape from spot taking advantage of the darkness.
On checking the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside it without any prior permission.
A case FIR No. 175/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
All the bovines were rescued and then shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovine was also seized on spot
Later police party of PS Ghagwal rescued five more bovines at surprise naka near Babar Nallah, Rajpura which were being transported in a Mahindra vehicle with Registration Number JK08C-5459 and moving towards Valley. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
A case FIR No. 176/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
