GGM Science College goes high tech, throws entire admission process online

JAMMU, June 16: In first of its kind in the history of Degree Colleges in J&K, GGM Science College Jammu has thrown the entire admission process online to the advantage of all the stake holders of higher education.
The admission site launched for the purpose by this college was inaugurated today by DIG Jammu Shakeel A Beigh in the presence of GGM Science College Principal Dr Nutan K Resutra.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Beig described the online admission as most innovative process that will go a long way in reducing the inconvenience to students while seeking admission. He appreciated the efforts of college administration in using technology for streamlining the admission process.
Earlier Dr Nutan K Resutra, detailed out the advantages of the online process of Admission. The college administration has created a facilitation centre manned by College committee for the purpose to facilitate the students, seeking admission to Semester – I of B Sc  / BCA of 3 year degree programme that commences from June 17, 2014, he informed.
Dr  P  Bambroo, convener of the Committee for `Online Admission’, said that entire admission process shall be completed in two  phases. During Phase – I, that is also referred to as Pre- Admission Phase, the students are required to visit to the college website www.ggmsciencecollege.in and fill in the required unique 12 digit student specific Admission Code, printed in the college admission brochure. This will enable the students to apply for admission online.  Phase – II requires the students to look for the selection status from June 27.
Present on the occasion among others were Dr  Ravinder Tickoo, Prof  R  S  Jamwal, Prof  Subash Samyal, Dr  Veer Ji, Prof  Venus Sharma, Prof  Sanjeev Goswami, Dr  Ranvijay Singh, Dr  Vikas Dogra, faculty members and students.
