JAMMU, May 22: A deputation of General Line Teachers Forum, under the leadership of its State president Neeraj Sharma today called on Education Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar  at his official residence and submitted a memorandum of demands.
Neeraj Sharma briefed the Minister about various issues confronting the General Line Teachers, particularly about the order 469 of 2014, which has caused resentment and disappointment among General Line Teachers.   He claimed that transfer policy for ReTs   may open the unconventional and back door recruitment of further ReTs as their shifting to some other school will render the original post vacant for further recruitment of ReTs of their near and dear ones in less competition at Mohalla or village level. Further, Neeraj added, the transfer will defeat the original purpose of ReT scheme of providing teachers to far flung areas.
The Forum also urged the Minister for conducting DPC of teacher to Master as more than 3000 posts of Masters are lying vacant in Jammu province because of no DPC after 2014.  The Minister was also urged for redressal of pay anomaly of teachers, making B Ed compulsory minimum selection qualification for direct recruitment of teachers alongwith Graduation from recognized university, repatriation of all the transferred ReTs back to their original school of engagement, etc.
Neeraj Sharma also apprised the Minister that his order for cancellation of all sorts of attachments of teaching staff from offices, was not implemented in true letter and spirit as hundreds of teachers were still working in the offices.
The delegation comprised of Atul Sharma ,  Shikha Sambyal ,  Kintu Sambyal , Munish Verma, Rakesh Thakur , Jeeva Kant, Wasim Choudhary , Shiv Nandan , Govind Singh , Kulbushan , Ramnesh Khajuria and  others.
Meanwhile, State general secretary of JKGLTF Rakesh Singh called on MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta and submitted him a memorandum apprised him in detail about genuine issues of Teachers, particularly delay in issuing the DPC list of Master grade.
“There should be timely and regular promotion of teaching fraternity of different cadres following a proper mechanism in which vacancies should be received by Administrative department in month of January and the same should be filled by DPC in month of July every year, ” he explained.
