JAIPUR, Sept 21: Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot today inaugurated several developmental works and laid foundation of many others including Phase 1-C of Jaipur Metro, worth Rs 1410 crore.
Gehlot inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of Phase 1-C of the important metro project in Jaipur costing Rs 980 crore and 9 development works of JDA costing about Rs 430 crore. The CM traveled by metro from Ramnagar metro station to Badi Chaupar. He also visited the exhibition based on Jaipur Metro plan at Badi Chaupar Metro Station and unveiled the statues of 7 freedom fighters at Lakshmi Temple, Tirahe. Besides, Gehlot also distributed lease papers to the house holders of Rajiv Awas Yojana Bagrana.
Addressing the foundation stone-inauguration ceremony, Gehlot said it is a matter of pride that Metro is expanding in Jaipur. “Our aim is to complete the second phase of metro from Sitapura to Ambabadi soon,” he said, adding, today, more than 50 thousand passengers travel in Jaipur Metro every day.He said the State Government is working dedicatedly for the development of the entire state including Jaipur. He said Rajasthan has emerged as a model state in all sectors including education, health, roads, electricity, water and the development works of Rajasthan are being discussed across the country.
The CM said that this is the first time that every person in the State has got some benefit of the schemes. He said his Government provided relief to the common people through 10 public welfare schemes by organizing inflation relief camps. He said that under Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme, people are now being provided employment in urban areas in the State.
Gehlot said due to the efficient financial management of the State Government, Rajasthan ranks first in North India and second in the country in economic growth rate. “By the end of this financial year, the GDP of the State will be Rs 15 lakh crore whereas our target is to take it to more than Rs 30 lakh crore by 2030,” he said, adding, Tourism has been given the status of industry in the State.
